Allison is a Registered Nurse, Certified Diabetes Educator and lifelong type 1 diabetic (diagnosed at 18 months in 1981).
After 29 years of suboptimal control, she was able to normalize her blood sugars utilizing Dr. Richard K. Bernstein's low-carb protocols from his book, "Dr. Bernstein's Diabetes Solution".
Allison is co-founder and admin of TypeOneGrit™, a 3000+ member group of type 1 diabetics and their families who follow Dr. Bernstein's protocols. She also leads two pregnancy groups for diabetes and specializes in diabetes in pregnancy.
Allison is currently writing a book on type 1 and pregnancy with a low-carb focus. She is also a wife and mom to 3 healthy children.
Allison will be offering general diabetes wellness coaching as well as pregnancy coaching.
